This is a race from the GTC run by ISRA League that I race in. We were at Philip Island this week. I think these few clips are good at showing the patience that is required for multi-class racing. At the start of the video, I am P6 (of 17) running pretty much by myself towards the end of the race, just turning laps. Then I get to the GT1 class leaders along with some other traffic and try to get by carefully and cleanly. As you will see, it can be a struggle. Once I got by the #77 corvette he hits the back of my car as I slow for a Ford GT. Luckily it didn't cause to much damage, but my top speed, which is low already relatively speaking (I would hit 167-68 on the front straight) is now about 163. The clips ends as the safety car is called out on track due to an incident. The second clip starts just as we are about to go back green, with about 3 or 4 laps left. The track feels extremely small with all of the cars/classes bunched up, and I was happy to get to the end without wrecking, of which there were quite a few on that restart. Or course, the Vettes that I had just got by are now right up with me again, and with the slower pace I think one manages to get by. I race with a couple other LMPs in the final laps to add even more pressure to the situation. I was happy to make it through this one.

Mar 12, 2012 - you would think that the honda is a lot faster than the vetts and the ford gt

Mar 14, 2012 - Yeah that's because the vette is a GT1 spec, while the HPD is meant to race with GT2 spec cars in this configuration. Vette is easily 20km/h faster on straights, so it makes things a bit harder
